Simply Thrilled : Chic Provence Named in Top Five Blogs in San Francisco!

Alongside such luminaries in the design scene as Grant K. Gibson "the Blog", Katiedid, Porcelains & Peacocks, and The Adventures of Tartanscot, I am thrilled Chic Provence is included in the lineup of the top five San Francisco design blogs by San Francisco Magazine! The list was chosen by the amazing and gracious Diane Dorrans Saeks, famed writer of twenty design books and innumerable design and lifestyle articles, editor on many publications and blogger of The Style Saloniste.

She has an amazing reach in the world of design and travels the world over absorbing culture, design, images and history and bringing the latest design trends and hottest designers into the spotlight from her unique perspective. And I happen to know she is a fabulous speaker and real-life guide through the best of the design ateliers here in San Francisco..her Saturday workshops are amazing!

Happy 101 Award from Marie Antoinette 2nd!

Much to my delight and gratitude this charming award arrived from Frances at Beautiful Interiors and 18th Century Style! Be sure to check out her gorgeous and interesting blog from down under. A very talented designer, Frances looks like the perfect Marie Antoinette, notify central casting!

Ten things that make me happy:

1. Ollie my little doggie is a funny happy little guy
2. doing photography and digital imaging with my husband Chris
3. girlfriends and sisters-in-spirit time
4. diving into the pool and swimming for an hour; it's like being in a Monet painting
5. working side by side with my daughter Lisa on creative design projects
6. flea markets anywhere in the world, especially France
7. knowing there are people like Diane Raleigh in the world who help clinics in Africa
8. lemons, croissants, quiche lorraine, coffee, entertaining
9. gorgeous colors never fail to bring a smile
10. laughing with my brother Rob and looking at his paintings

I'm delighted to be given the Kreativ Blogger Award by Terri at The Countrypolitan. Her gorgeous and sophisticated blog is about the fusion of rustic elegance and cosmopolitan styles..which I love! Many thanks for this honor and for placing me in the company of my fellow bloggers of distinction!

As part of the award, I am asked to reveal 7 things about myself..so here goes:

1. I think I can sing, but I really can't. I want to be Whitney Houston or Etta James or Edith Piaf, or even Willy Nelson (ha!).

2. I adore the sea (a psychic once told me I was a sea captain in a past life!) I love walking by the sea with my husband and dog Ollie as often as we can make it over to Half Moon Bay.

3. I have floated..literally!.. in mid-air more times than I care to remember (I worked for NASA). Ask me sometime just how it made me feel!

4. I adore flea marketing, designing, shopping, traveling with my amazing daughter Lisa!

5. I love old French linen fabric that I can use & wash in the machine 'til it's soft as velvet.

6. Sometimes I dream in French, preferably Southern French!

7. I get verrrry cranky if I don't do something creative every day.
